Be yourself

Be true to you...with a little help
make the connection
say what you feel
and smile, more

Word for 2011

My word of the year is TRY.
I give up too easily,
I don't start because I think I'll never finish,
This year if it looks interesting,
if it looks worthwhile,
if it's something I always wanted to do,
well, this year I'm going to TRY
and lets see how much more I can achieve

Pretty perfect really......

Happy Winter Solstice to you all!
Just in case you hadn't noticed, today was the shortest day, that was it - zip - gone!
All hail the new year.
So, happy :) sad:( or too stressed to care, how are you feeling?  Is it true to say that the shortest day is also the busiest given the very nature of this seasonal silliness?  (apologies for all who may take christmas very seriously, no offence meant).
Usually the female in the house *groans*, who has all the extra work eh?
These days I don't have much of the stress since, being an oldie I've given up on many seasonal traditions.  Re-invented things to suit myself (and him indoors).  Give gifts to the very old (our parents) and the very young (our grandchildren) take a walk up a hill on christmas day, somewhere wild and wonderful with a bit of luck:)
Back to a cosy house, a 'feast' of jacket potato and bean casserole, maybe a bit of pud.
 Job done.

On any other day I'm most likely to be seen......
trailing around the place
with my trusty backpack and walking poles
getting stoned..........;)
Castlerigg Neolithic Stone Circle
Cumbria
hanging out with the birds.....
Saltburn's historic Victorian Pier and Industrial Teesport
from Huntcliffe
sharing a cup of afternoon tea with little friends
"don't forget mine" says Eeyore
"gosh Tigger", says Piglet, "why do you always look so surprised?"
and maybe getting a few unfinished projects ......
Paddington Bear Number Quilt
.......... finished:)

Heyho,

Have a happy life friends

That quilt looks wonderful and I love the your young friend and all her little friends. I see some familiar faces in there that seem to be in our home, too. :)

  4. Love the stone circle! I always like to visit standing stones whenever I see them on a map (and we're going to be cose by of course!). Sounds like a good Christmas to me, but I still love the silliness too! Have a great day whatever you do! :) x

  6. Uh, I would spend all my time trailing if I had those delights anywhere near me. What am I saying? I have wonderful delights near me and yes, I do get to trailing quite often. Enjoy and I hope it's calm and peaceful for you.

  7. I love Castlerigg and have often gone "circle hunting" with my other half. I like the sound of your christmas - laid back, relaxed and personal to you. It is one of the advantages of getting older don't you think? that we no longer feel compelled to join in the mad rush, just because it's a certain time of year, but have developed "our" way which suits us fine. Merry Christmas. xxx
